 a Cyrix 486 DX 2 with ISA Trident VGA card (SVGA?)
 It needs the following parts so once again I can enjoy my pre Win 9X collection of games:
-A HDD 250MB or greater but probably up to a Gig -EDO RAM sticks (72 pin) about 16MB worth -An ISA soundcard (Preferably a Soundblaster 1,2 Pro, 16 or Gavis ultra sound)
I'm intprerested. How much? the only thing is I have to pay my car rego this week and I'll be poor  But I'll be ok next week :D Does the SB 16 have drivers? I could probably still obtain them over the net or a manual copy from my sister's PC as she still uses one.
Anyway Sego, Thanx man!
Can't wait to reserect years of collected dos games from 1990 onwards. I do use VDMS (Dos/Soundblaster Emulator) in Win2k but it is only so effective and no updates exist since last year. Plus some CDROM and memory emulation (AKA Ultima 7) is still dogy and 486 games beyond 33mz such as Rise of the Triad: Dark War, Terminal Velocity, Descent 2, Mechwarrior 2 and Duke Nukem 3D is poor or non existant.
8) And to all others, Yes these are full version games I own plus many more!
Wow, it's surprising everyone's got all this oldschool gear - but never wanna admit it ;) I've got 2x isa sounds, can offload free. As for hdd, 4 gig mebbe - 66rev's
 I thought this was a trading post and not a discussion or flame fourm for discussing who has a kick arse system! Please don't start another "Life does not revolve around video cards" type post. This post was simply for the selling of old parts so that I could restore an old PC so that I can run my 286-486 game collection because current efforts in attempting to run this era's software on a PC even with a emulator such as VDM Sound is diffcult.
:D However I'm impressed that many of you have the gear. How much do u guy's what for each part?
fyi, i have about 5 old pc's in varying condition (some with all parts and some with parts missing) from 486 through to p133. I would be happy if i got a carton for the lot :D

Try out VMWare, it might be what you're looking for :)
Quote from Daemonlord X: I'm still after RAM and a HDD for the relic? Hello?! ANY-ONE!!
32mb RAM still on offer...
will ring about the SB16 and i'll bring the RAM with me... just remember i don't have any means of actually testing the parts to see whether they work still.
How much for 32MB? I just finished work and will be back there again at 11am tomorrow RANT::evil: BLOODY WORK!! BY NEXT SAT I WILL HAVE WORKED 3 WEEKS (including weekends) STRAIGHT! :D But I get a week's paid vactation when I move house. I'll have to arange something with NTU to enrole as on both enrolement days I'M BLOODY WORKING!!!
well... if you do want the RAM i'd rather not make two trips out to Palmerston. won't be there at that time today either.
the only other time is Territory Day - i'm going out there for a party so i can drop by your house or something and drop off the stuff. if you still want the ram and the soundcard. if still interested PM me details.
