Instead of hijacking the other thread i thought it better to make a thread of my own on this subject, as at the moment I am not too worried about my mouse, a mousepad is more what I am looking for. Ive read various things about various mousepads but I'm just wondering what you people use. I have about $60 to spend on one but the cheaper the better, a good value mousepad that works but is not the worlds greatest is good enough for me.

I've heard Ratpadz are good, think their about $30, can't go past a nice thick piece of cardboard though :)

You want an Everglide gaming matt (the ones with pictures printed on them, slim line design, practically flat to the table, and large) or a Func Industries Surface 1030. Forget Rat Padz, forget the Everglide gigantas and attack pads.
Steel pad is fantastic if you're using an MS 3.0, Ice Matt is great if you're using a boomslang...

Rec.....im using a Logitech Dual optical.
What u reckon would be a good matt for it?

Its pretty cool.

I'm using a laminated piece of paper, works like a dream!!!!
However I've heard good things about the Rat Padz

rat padz are not as good as an everglide.
two choices as rec said.
1: Everglide Giganta (like i got :)) is for people that like free mouse movement and they are really handy for putting on your bed and soft surfaces coz they are a really hard Plastic.
2: Func mouse padz are different. Flammable has a Func and it is for your more grippy time of mouse pad users. the smooth side if the best side of a func, but its only practicle on a desk, but does give alot more grip and stabillty. but it does get irritating and anoying for browsing and every day use after a while
so it really depends on what you need. and if you get an evergilde then i suggesting getting the gel pad too. its heaps comfy, and thanks to Xaine's gel pad i teamed down S :D

The mouse feet on logitech mice scream func.
I reccommend microsoft mice users go for a Steel pad if they've got the money, with fun/everglide gaming matt in close second.

i use a folder cover
its a bit of plastic u hacked of this binder

dga tables are good mouse pads too cause ter very wind and u can almost never run out of surface area
only thing is i usally run into a wet spot from my drink :(

Pfft sif put down Ratpadz (hey i dont seem to be doing too bad?!)
I also know Gobbles uses one and likes it a lot.
I think they are a great pad, I just have to get another one mines gotten old :roll:

I use the plastic part off a folder. Add some felt to the bottom for softness and some none slip grip stuff from spotlight. All for under $6. Large gaming area too.

I actually tried this and lo and behold it rocks :D ALthough i cant compare it to anything but its tons better than my leather desk which every time u move the mouse you almost have to pick it up :shock: its got that much friction... Havent done the felt or none slip grip thing but at the moment its a much nicer surface... also do you guys use the folder with the clear plastic cover on or off? :wink:

My laminate keeps my mouse feet nice and shiny :D You wanna see the feet of the Uni Mice, don't slide at all some of them.

Take the front plastic cover out of the bindings and use only that. Felt is fairly important as it gives it a slightly softer feel :) And i like soft feeling things :lol:

what ever mouse pad u get DO NOT GET EVERGLIDE GERGI..Ddddd whatever series.... they SUCK
ive seen em and felt them.
my friend has one right and he said afetr like 3 months it wore out into crap! like the surface he uses most (mouse pad is big) is all smoothed out cause the dust got all rubbed into it somehow and the other surface is still roguh... i tried it.. it's bad.. the wooden table is even better. get func or soemthing, heard they are good and in pccg all sold out too... or just get the standard martierl stuff...like the clothe thingy. im using a homer simpson mosuepad and it's still good as new.. 4 yrs ... perfect trackign for my microsoft wheel mouse optical.

i use 2 mouse pads... $6 cheap arse one and an everglide... dont ask you i use both of them... just comtable i guess...
