Cyclone Monica

Ok? All cyclones are bad? Wow, thanks for that one. I'm talking relative to Darwin we won't have a direct hit, it seems very unlikely at this moment as it is going very south to us. It has also taken a big hit going over land and has had a very rapid drop in power and it has shrunk a fair bit. EDIT: New BOM track is…

Cyclone Monica

Yeah, I'd say so. Unless it gets into the water on the other side it is going to power down pretty quickly. Name: Monica Severity Category: 4 Situation At: 10PM CST Monday 24 April 2006 Warning Area: Port Keats to Milingimbi Watch Area: Kalumburu to Port Keats Location: 12.0S 133.7E Recent Movement: WSW at 14 km/h R…

Cyclone Monica

Because JTWC is meant to be modeled completely in computers. I would still play it safe but I really doubt that we are going to get hit. I doubt that the cyclone will go that far inland but JTWC might be right.

Cyclone Monica

You have to buy it. I'd go with the BOM at the moment. The JTWC has made some huge changes as of late.

Cyclone Monica

At the moment no, school and work is not closed. I view this as a mistake as it would allow more time for people to get ready but oh well. It seems it wont hit till late tuesday sometime wednesday anyway.

Cyclone Monica

I updated my post BTW. That map I posted says that the cyclone will still be a cat 5 by the time it gets to Darwin. I hope everyone is stocked up.

Before I go off to be I thought people might be interested in this picture. http://www.npmoc.navy.mil/jtwc/warnings/sh2306sa.gif [Image: http://www.npmoc.navy.mil/jtwc/warnings/sh2306sa.gif] EDIT: If the picture should go down or change as of 2006-04-24T12:38:25+9:30 the picture shows the cyclone heading for Darwin …

Darwin power outage

Uni went out but Nightcliff was perfectly fine. All the routers went out when I was finishing the last task as well :(.

Can you escape this room?

I find it funny that it is meant to be linked to your IQ. More like linked to how good you are at left-clicking. Finished 1 and 2 BTW.

Cybernetic Computers

Hi, do you have a website or price list to go over? I'm thinking of buying that 6600GT, looks pretty good :). Will you be at DGA? Also what version is that card? The GV-NX66T128D or the GV-NX66T128VP? A quick google search for GEF6600GT only returned Gigabyte graphics cards.

Ingrid's visit to the NT

It's open. I just got told it was on the radio. They should say excluding CDU in the announcements if they are going to do that. :/

I'll be at home. I very much doubt if it did swing back it will happen before Tuesday. I've been following the thread at weatherzone (http://www.weatherzone.com.au/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=000271;p=121) they seem pretty clued up. It is really just a waiting game.

Ingrid's visit to the NT

"Most of the models still going for a Darwin crossing sometime Monday night / Tuesday morn as it slides down the coast." http://www.weatherzone.com.au/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=000271;p=112#001737 I found that interesting. Cyclones are pretty unpredictable, who knows where it is going :S.
