Australian iPhone Release Info Given to Resellers by Apple Australia - MacTalk Forums

Resellers have been informed of the following things:

* Last week of June release
* More than 1 carrier
* No contract lock in
* Current resellers will be able to sell iPhones

For those that way inclined...

It better be the 3G model otherwise its a waste of time.

Current iphone deficiencies;
It can't take video.
It can't send MMS.
It cannot sync or share via bluetooth.
2MP camera, needs 3.2 or 5MP.
Edge only, needs 3G minimum but really it needs HSDPA.

Hardware wise, the iPhone is shite. The OS is bloody cool, but I'll be avoiding this one. Devices better than it have already been around for almost a year.

Completely new phone eh? 5mp camera? Digital TV tuner? 16gb internal memory PLUS a card slot? GPS reciever? TV out? Digital Radio? Afraid not. I'll keep looking forward to the N96, which should still be released before it.
