There are plenty of apps to sync the Desire with itunes via desktop sync clients.

No iTunes is an advantage, not a disadvantage. iTunes is a piece of shit. It'd be a joy to stop using it.

lol, I misread the list. Didn't notice it was a Pro not a Con.

Ah fuck it, I'm moving over. It's $200~ cheaper, and I'm seeing less and less of a hardware feature difference.

I know I'm going to be disappointed with the range and polish of apps, but that will only get better.

Don't forget you can also use this as a phone that doesn't drop calls

I think you'll be pleastanly surpirsed to be honest, at the level that exists now.... for sure they have a way to go but man when they get there!

How does the Galaxy stack up against the desire?

On paper, it's better. 30fps 720p video recording out-of-box, 3x HSUPA speeds, Wireless N, Super AMOLED screen.

But, it's a Samsung... which makes me nervous for some reason. I don't know why, they've always been ultra reliable, statistically.

I did consider it even though Telstra wont have it for a few weeks yet.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S vs HTC Desire / Bravo | Mobile Phone Blog

                            Galaxy has:
                            No Fm Radio
                            No Headphone Jack
                            No Camera Flash.

That was enough for me to stop considering it.

Kinda strange that the Galaxy has no headphone jack :/

Didn't notice those missing features when looking at specs... wow, that blows. No headphone jack? Instant fail. Definitely the Desire.
