The following areas may experience damaging wind gusts between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm:
Manton Dam,
Acacia Hills,
Darwin River,
Berry Springs,
Noonamah,
Humpty Doo,
Howard Springs,
Palmerston,
Darwin,
Cox Peninsula,
Bynoe Harbour.
People in these areas are advised to secure loose outside objects and avoid remaining in the open when storms threaten.
The next Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued no later than 5:30 pm

LOL yeah topgun, u perth person u. How dare u have nice beaches and no thunderstorms. I miss perth :cry: but I love thunderstorms. Love hearing dogs freak out and car alarms constantly going off, then laugh as Im inside keeping warm. :)

i love the fact that when it rains here, it's warm water.. not icicles like you southerners get. We have beaches, and the most i ever use them is to launch my jet ski and fuck off out into the ocean. There's no law regarding Jet Skis up here, no rego, no restrictions. (same with boats).
But, I'm dreading the day some government fuckwit decides its better for him if i pay $500+ to have to put rego stickers on my jet ski. I don't miss the Melbourne beaches one bit, 1000s of people squashed on this piddly strip of sand. For those of you who think darwin don't have beaches, scoot on over to Mika Beach (i think it's called Mika Beach) in Woods Inlet, it's awesome and there's hardly anyone there.

I've seen lightning here too. Pretty loud but not suprising the places down here are built out of matchsticks.
Until Perth comes up to join Darwin in the monsoon. We'll have the best weather :)

Darwin does have beaches Im sure but when u ever get to Perth, you cannot compare any beaches in any other state to W.A. beaches which are pure white sand and clean water with surf available. I dont live in Perth anymore but still think they have the best beaches, and I currently live in Brisbane.
And in Darwin, not as though u can swim much up there without some sort of critter wanting to sting, bite or nibble at u. :?
