I just want to see what everyone else considers to be the most addictive game ever made. Can be old or new, doesnt matter.

For me i think it was X-Com 2: Terror from the Deep. I played it to death, nothing else came close until Diablo 2, but even that was soft-core compared to this game.

Post 2

In terms of time played mine would be CS or Diablo2.

Xcom 1 and 2 were awesome games tho.

Post 3

WoW :(. If you mean as in older games, there was this one game called Imperialism that i must've played for at least a bajillion hours. That and Sid Meier's (sp!?) Pirates!

Post 4

warcraft III is fairly addictive

Post 5

wizball.

Post 6

Post 7

Rygar. If anyone remembers it..

Post 14

Agreed Milenko! Super Mario Kart rocked (original nintendo).

Post 15

hah! addictive kart games rock..
I'd forgotten, but 'whacky wheels' was also damned addictive :p

Post 16

oh hell yeah! i had that wacky wheels game.

Post 17

Noice coco, moo2 was teh shit! Also neo, I think Super Mario Kart was on the Super Nintendo, not the original :P

edit: oh wait if you're trying to distinguish between the snes and 64 and gc versions ignore my smartass comment :)

Post 18

that's what i'm taking about SNES + Super Mario Kart.

Amen to that....
Team Fortress(original quake version) is right up there for me.

Post 23

for me it was definately sid miers Civilisation 1 (the original and the best)

followed closely by the old Sid miers pirates and the old marble madness game

Post 24

Ah frig...marble madness....that was one of those games on the 'Game Quiz' thread posted earlier but I couldnt remember the name of it...By the way I only got 11, but 11 on the second one too (or 8, cant quite remember, around that mark anyway).

Oh yeah and Bubble Bobble for those who had Amiga 500's. When I was like about 8 me and my 4 yr old nephew finished all 100 levels.

Post 25

WoW is the most addictive game ever

Post 26

Its definitely up there dude...I was wondering how long it would take before someone mentioned it...

Post 27

dude it was mentioned in like the 3rd post or something........ DEFINENTLY MARIO KART!!!!! but has to be on the snes **** that was awesome... next chuppa chup challenge yes please!!!

Post 28

man nintendo have all the addictive classics...
goldeneye was pretty addictive when you had 4 people...

Post 29

The PP7 was the best gun in the game. (not including the golden gun)

Post 30

Proximity Mines...

Post 31

Pfft they just made the game stale mate. But they were fun "wtf where did that prox mine come from" "HAHAHAHAHA".

Post 32

I set the proxy mines down the hallway in the facility...blew up and sent you from one to the other the length of the hallway....good for wiping out someone with full health/armour...that and if you set it on an item and then pick the item up before the mine became active, the item spawned with an invisible proximity mine :p

Post 33

Mines gotta be the super street fighter series and Daytona. Quake2 deathmatch has to be up there for old. CS:Source for new.

Post 34

Neverwinter Nights, Morrowind, Deus Ex and anything by Blizzard.

I've played through warcraft 3, both Diablos and i've started playing starcraft again :D

Post 35

Tetris!!!

Post 36

Cs

Post 37

Fallout 2 kept me busy for a long ****ing time.. and i finished it in almost all the different ways you can..

Post 38

Ultima Online (& it still kicks the ass of the new MMORPG)
with out a question. Would spent many, many hours playing that game, at the expense of sleep.
But who needs sleep right, sleep when you are dead. Of course i almost ended up as as lich lord in real since i would go 3 days straight.

Post 39

UO has turned to shit now glenn. :(

Post 40

Not that i play anymore.
But i tried EQ2 for 2 months and it SUCKED.
I mean if i wanted to spend 1/2 -3/4 hour trying to form a group with a bunch of pimple popping retards so i could adventure and get some XP to go up a level just to make the whole experience more difficult, I would play WOW.
So i guess thats why i say UO is still good, and not either of the prementioned games.

could you make a more uninformed claim? by and large the WoW population is one of the more mature i've seen. and you really have no clue whatsoever about the gameplay if you think it's just one great big level grind.

Post 45

Wrong from your point of view, but right in my point of view.

Thanks so much, you know I'm actually having a nice day and they are only going to get better cause im not playing those incrediably poor attempts at a MMORPG. :D

Post 47

Wonderboy Arcade. It just kept going forever.

I understand your point but how can somany people world wide be wrong, and anything that gets gamers co op'ing cant be a bad thing. Especially when playing with mates. WOW, EQ2, It enrichs the whole experiance

Post 49

I shall now post how old I am. Most addictive game ever. The original space invaders on the old stand up machine with joy stick and fire button.

I spent many a 20c piece playing that game at the shopping centre until I got the last one.

Then there was the commodore 64 games. Some of the best games ever...
