OMG!!!!!11111ONEONEONE TAHT WAS SOOOOOOO KEWL..... I WAS ROFLFLFLFLFMAOFLING SOOOOOO HAAARD CUS IT WAS LIEK BULLSHIT :D
I am not a raver but I do understand what is appealing about the whole "rave" scene.
Each to his own I say and why should someone be made fun of because his/her way of enjoying themselves doesn't match the carbon copy of the population of "normal" people's version of how to enjoy yourself.

For the most part it is futile to argue against ignorance and unfair to take shots at someone who is unarmed. An ignorant person cannot understand what ignorance is, will only get defensive and it's hard for them to appreciate the ones who can see right through them.

I could sit here and write all day for them to come out and I could blow my trumpet and jump up and down for them to accept knowledge, but you know and I know that we are preaching on deaf ears. These people really are ignorant but they have chosen to be so but we should have compassion on them.
Even though what i will now post will be unappriecated and misunderstood by the "majority" of people on GU. I post it for the people that do understand, you know who you are... :)

The Ravers Manifesto
Our emotional state of choice is Ecstasy. Our nourishment of choice is Love. Our addiction of choice is technology.
Our religion of choice is music. Our currency of choice is knowledge. Our politics of choice is none.
Our society of choice is utopian though we know it will never be.
You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You maybe unaware of our existence.
We can only hope you do not care to judge us, because we would never judge you.
We are not criminals. We are not disillusioned. We are not drug addicts. We are not naive children...
We are one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law,
physical geography, and time itself.
We are The Massive. One Massive.
We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of concrete, steel, and electrical wiring.
We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and darkness of it,
We came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal.
And somewhere around 35 Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits.
Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors, atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very instant, with these initial realisations that each of us was truly born.
We continue to pack our bodies into clubs, or warehouses, or buildings you've abandoned and left for naught, and we bring life to them for one night.
Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most intense, most hedonistic form.
In these makeshift spaces, we seek to shed ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future you have been unable to stabilise and secure for us.
We seek to relinquish our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackle's and restraints you've put on us for your own peace of mind.
We seek to re-write the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with since the moment we were born.
Programming that tells us to hate, that tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and most convenient pigeon hole possible. Programming that even tells us to climb ladders for you,
jump through hoops, and run through mazes and on hamster wheels.
Programming that tells us to eat from the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of nourish ourselves with our own capable hands.
Programming that tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.
Until the sun rises to burn our eyes by revealing the dis-utopian reality of a world you've created for us, we dance fiercely with our brothers and sisters in celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the values we believe in:
Peace, Love, Freedom, Tolerance, Unity, Harmony, Expression, Responsibility and Respect.
Our enemy of choice is ignorance. Our weapon of choice is information. Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you need to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence.
But know that while you may shut down any given party, on any given night, in any given city, in any given country or continent on this beautiful planet, you can never shut down the entire party.
You don't have access to that switch, no matter what you may think. The music will never stop.
The heartbeat will never fade. The party will never end.
I am a raver, and this is my manifesto.

Yeah the person who wrote that is basically just ripping off Maddox
Also hes (and im assuming its a guy who wrote it) bitching about raving being faggy etc yet the website has a huge anime banner on top. That for me kind of weakens his argument somewhat.

Hackers Manifesto
Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"... Damn kids.
They're all alike.
But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him? I am a hacker, enter my world... Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me... Damn underachiever.
They're all alike.
I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head..." Damn kid. Probably copied it.
They're all alike.
I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me... Or feels threatened by me... Or thinks I'm a smart ass... Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here... Damn kid. All he does is play games.
They're all alike.
And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. "This is it... this is where I belong..." I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all... Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again.
They're all alike...
You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you did let slip through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert. This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals. Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for. I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual, but you can't stop us all...
After all, we're all alike.

A good book on "Hackers" is by Steven Levy and funnily enough it is called "Hackers"
Tells the history of how comtemporary Computing got started ... back at MIT RailRoad Club ... the development of systems and who the people were behind them ... Apple ( the 2 Steves ) ... how BG got hold of DOS .... phone phreaking ... stealing time on the Uni computers etc ...
Very good read .. dont be mislead by the title its not what you think it means ... this describes the early Hackers - which means for example rewriting a piece of machine code using one less instruction than a previous person used. The best exponents of this were called "Hackers" not the little script kiddies of today ...
Post 18
The problem is, when you say hacker, its these faggoty little script kiddies that people of think of in todays world.
