Found out today that 8 (Yes that's 8 ) subexchanges/RIM's hanging off the Noonamah exchange are going to have the NEC AM35 DSLAM's installed over the next few months.
Don't ask me for exact ones as i haven't gotten that info as yet.
Keep an eye out for tomorrow though as i will hopefully know by then.

They're installing it now, but this time it will take a little longer because they're installing the actual racks aswell, not just inserting the card. lol

If they install there own DSLAMS then they will offer full rate. When Tel$tra Wholesale start ofering ADSL2+ on there DSLAMS the speeds Internode can offer will be subject to what Tel$stra Wholesale offer.
From what i've read they will be setting maxspeed to 6MB :(

Guys - as interesting as it is to know whether the hardware is in place, you won't officially hear anything until ISPs start offering the service.
As I've already said, even if the hardware is there, it will just sit there until the service is offered.

It's just Telstra getting ready to offer their ADSL2 plans at less than the max ADSL1 speeds. You wont see anything happen with it until the whole country is done I'd say and they do a big release.
Still, if it means ppl like Harb FINALLY get ADSL, then its a good thing. Just nowhere NEAR as good as it COULD be.

A full ADSL2+ DSLAM in Karama already has about 300 people on it as it didn't have any ADSL before it was put it so it is actually getting used. It's just ADSL1.

Not sure what you're saying so I'll see if I can answer it both ways:
If you're talking about Node selling their service...
Only rental of exchange space, afaik.
The local loop has to be shared amongst all providers. This is why 'node can offer ADSL2+ (up to 24mbit) for cheaper than the standard 1.5mbit or less speeds as, at these lower speeds, Telstra handle a larger portion of the connection and thus, charge more for it (like port space on the DSLAM).
If you're referring to some sort of arrangement whereby node customers use the new ADSL2 Telstra DSLAM's...
Node have said this is a no-no as Telstra is to be kept out of the loop when it comes to operating their own ADSL2+ enabled network. However, node did approach iiNet with their offer of sharing DSLAM access... but iiNet didn't want to have anything to do with it at present... Which kinda sucked :(
