actually what i means for Q3 is are you told by your friends or you find the forum yourself, Obviously that's mean you were told by your friends thanks for the commet
I'm exactly the same as Cow. Basically it used to be gamers@octa4 and had a corresponding CS (Counter:Strike) server, back in the 'old days'. It was then changed to Gamers Underground...ooh, 2(?) years ago now... maybe 2 1/2. (Bad memory)
I kept on with this forum because it was Darwin based (a rarity) and it was the hangout of the majority of darwin gamers, most attending DGA events.
Plus, why would I give up 8000 posts? (Joke! Really! :P)
1. why you joining this forum? Don't really remember... I think it was the first 'semi-popular' Darwin based forum out there really. It's more Australia wide now, but hey.
2. how do you use the forum? No particular reason, sell old computer, browse around, sometimes argue with people... Nothing like a good little 'tiff' to make it a nice place.
3. how do you find this forum? Don't remember, I was shown by someone, but I would have found it, as I ended up working for Octa4 for over two years later on, and then O4 was no more.

I was told to jump into Octa4 cs servers, which I think back then ppl or the server would spam the Octa4 Website, which, in turn dragged my over here.

1. why you joining this forum? I'm not joining, i've already joined. Same as the above, CS, friends and was a good way to get a hold of people closer to home, being Darwin.

Hmm Rec I believe? heh to be honest I can't really remember, I think it had something to do with the Octa4 LAN as I went down to have a look at what the go was, I had heard about it from a friend so we went down and had a look. Then I somehow managed to stumble apon Rec's ICQ I "think" and he pointed me towards GU. Rec have a clue? :p Of course this was about when I started playing CS on GU and well CS altogether. Close to 5 years ago now.. scary.
1. I went to DGA and was pointed to this forum after 2. Not really sure exactly what you mean by this question.. I use it when Im bored at work and want some randomness. 3. I don't know.. I find myself checking it less and less. I think it's a good forum for people getting into gaming etc and keeping social with everyone, I just find the topics not quite as interesting as they used to be for me. But then I dont lan anymore either or play any computer games really except wow :) In general I'd say it was a good source of community and information.

3. How do you find this forum? - it's pretty good, usually check it to figure out what's going on in the world rather than getting off my ass and watching the news. Found it through contact with psyave.

2. how do you use the forum? In a variety of ways. News about upcoming technology, a good fertile ground for interesting arguments, a hotbed of political debate, learning how to spell and use punctuation, game discussion - oh and to bag Korny.

1. What made you join this forum? Played on OCTA@4 TFC servers abit in 99 and 00 (i think). Got into CS beta 2. Found a CS octa 4 server in mid year 01, joined 58th. Forced to join the forum because of Slyfox, and to this date still havent been upgraded to a moderator which OD and SlyFox promissed lol.
2. How did you use the forum? Well after the above, GU or OCTA basically came my main gaming community. I use the forum for basic communications and falsefication of stats :P

Not true. Only Flamm and I could ever bunny hop. You need version 1 of cs. Damn it was cool speeding cross map and jumping into people and headshot before they even see you :D
heh, version 1 beta CT had a captain. that captain was the only one that could have/use a certain type of pistol. then they got bored of the idea because it didn't actually do anything and phased it out.. but it was a cool pistol
.. and awp didn't have blackout, and you ran at the same speed with it, heh.. so everyone just ran around using it as a shotgun :D

as far as I remember, Unseen could bunnyhop.
You weren't the only ones that could do it wortel.
I joined gamers@octa4 back in late 2001 under a different name but joined under this name in early 2002 cause I wanted to go to a LAN... EVO1 was my first LAN and was where I played CS for the first time.

I don't use it much anymore but when i do, I use it to check up on what the old mob in Darwin are up to.

I found it on google when I was looking for where the octa4 TFC server was at... and the rest my friend..... is OMFGWTFBBQBSHS flavoured history :D
I cant remember - I joined it because one day I was looking for a counterstrike server and I joined and there was this mod on called "funmode" - I'd never encountered anything like it and started coming back to see if there was any more funmode to be had.. sadly there wasnt many but I built up a sorta friendship with a few of the players on here - joining the forum was a natural step from there - I dont know if anyone even remembers me.. I had this stupid ****ing alias thing that sung the captnbirdseye tune.. it was funny for about a week :)

I used to post every now and then.. but only if I had something to say hence the low post count (i think.. cant remember my post count) then i stopped playing cs when they bought out steam because I was dialup and real life reared its ugly head -- sadly.. now i log on about once every few months to see whats going on.. if i can sort through a drug and alcohol addled haze to remember

I think i was told it in CS and came on over to sit and chat.. i'm not going away i'm just very inactive :)
