Up to 100 Gigabits per second!
Another impressive announcement
320GB HDD
And another a while ago 50 Terabits per square inch on HDD platters
yeh, you need the 320gb hard drives with enormous seek times to keep up with the 100GBits/s speeds...
..it's all a lovely little circle :P
But what about the RAM to store the data in use, the CPUs to process it... etc.
i never went into depth...;)
if i wanted to even think about going into other components then hard drives and data transfer (ie internet) then i could probably go on forever..muahahaha :P
...and it's still a lovely little circle :D
Hmm 100 Gigabits per second. That means the world will get it in about five years and Australia will get it in about 20 or so. :x
about 18 months ago, word was out that they could use diferent wavelengths of light (ie. colors) to push up to 6 simultaneous data streams down the line. If anyone remembers the specifics, feel free to correct me :P
