but this time I have matured and learnt the errors of my ways. I realised that I was stupid and immature.

and the virus...which has spread over my computer... my second hard drive is starting to fall over - drive health is a marvellous program.
NAV picked it up but it wasn't quick enough - and here's me thinking i would format next week and install a better antivirus i picked up for $300 :(

If he gets disconnected for what he has done (which he will assuming Optus give a shit) then he will be up for a fair bit of money in either a re-activation fee or getting connected with another ISP.
if he is disconnected that would be enough for me. at least i will be happy to know that optus does care...

it's not the drive that's damaged..it's the stuff on the drive - windows doesn't let me access it etc and drive health keeps reporting weird figures and strange attribute changes..
a format will cure it but nothing short of that will do..
dont give it out or post it to anyone. it probably uses the w32.exception exploit, and it will probably trash any machine out there that doesnt have the absolute latest service pack for IE.
OR even then it might use some other hack that has no name yet.
So dont go risking it.

It involves making the HDD heads on the platters move back and forth in erratic ways and they will break.

I don't recall who, but someone was even recently attacking us over chasing him out of GU - I'm sure he remembers who he is though, and I'm also sure that he now realises why we did it.
fyi Rain - HDD's aren't really supposed to hard track from one end of the drive to the other repeatedly while at full speed - it tends to do horrible things to the inside of the machine...
Seqo - did you happen to get an IP address of the site in question? if so, I can put in an official complaint over the site content to the registered owner of the IP and get it torched too.

I'm sure we've all known someone who was a complete tosser. Someone who we thought would be greatly improved if only someone would beat some sense into them with a large blunt object.
Deliberately infecting someone's computer with a virus comes under the willful damage act, and is a federal offense in Australia. If you wanted, I'm sure you could take this to the Federal police and expect them to at least take an interest.
We here at O4 have been approached on the odd occasion by officers of the law in an official capacity in order to find as much information as possible about people such as this.
Bottom line is, no matter what happens, if you get him disconnected, it might teach him the lesson he sorely needs to learn, and if not, he might manage to piss off the kind of person who will beat some intelligence into him.
Just remember, no matter how you look at what happened to your own machine, he could do this again in another place, to other people. People that may be less technically minded than you.
Wankers like Milf not only disrupt your life, but also make the lives of people like myself and IT professionals around the world that much more frustrating. I have exactly zero tolerance for people who write and/or deliberately spread viruses. IMO they need to have their fingers amputated someplace near the elbow.
I'm with Meph, I think if the whole family loses their internet connection because of his stupid actions, then thats their fault and maybe they will disipline him and regulate his computer usage. His parents should be more aware of his computer usage anyway.

If something like this happened to me, I would go on and get Milf disconnected, i don't see it as revenge, i see it as teaching a twerp a good lesson. Milf has always said how his such a rich daddys boy, well, his dad won't be mad at him, and they sure have the money to get another account right?

I'm very sure what he did was a criminal offence, and at least he should get disconnected by optus and get blacklisted by some other ISPs.
