    My favourite is the one from Star Trek 6 at 2:50 into that clip. I find myself always using the same delivery when I'm launching a torpedo volley to finish a damaged ship off. Oh, and when I'm boosting my shields I always use Sulu's delivery from the beginning of the same movie "Shields... SHIELDS!"

    Yes, talking to myself is one of the things I love to do while I play STO. Jesus Christ, I'm such a geek.

        Worth waiting for launch to play the joined trill? I have nfi how those stats compare whether they're the equiv of 1/1000th fuckall or actually useful.

          If you want a joined trill you can just start a throwaway character now to unlock Klingons.

                i have to say, his rule of not level-9ing your abilities needs some exemptions - eg: if you're using cannons on an escort you're mad not to level 9 all the cannon related skills - with rapid fire engaged even if the bonus from 8-9 works out to a negligible amount, if you don't 9/9/9 the related skills you're looking at a fairly substantial loss of DPS

                  It depends if the 8 - 9 increase is more or less than investing it in a higher tier ability.

                      lenko, no it doesnt - the 9/9/9 refers to all three tiers that affect them eg: [energy weapons][cannons][disruptors] - yes you can squeeze more dmg out by cranking the heavy escort skill (boost to .. alpha maneuvers (i think it is)) - but i dont think anything else will give anywhere near the almost consistent sheer dps boost for your cannons than 9/9/9ing them + rapid fire

                      (lols that i'm making these comments and haven't even hit commander yet)

                            I'm looking forward to the missions on your ship that get triggered after a random planet mission - return to space only to have your crew falling sick so have to find a cure. missions of that ilk should be cool, providing reasons for you to wander your own corridors (no, Lenko, I don't mean like THAT), and lack of resolution should leave your ship operating under capacity until you've addressed it.

                                State of the Game post on the STO site has mentioned a few things they're working on right now for the game: Star Trek Online

                                Some of the few things on the way:

                                * Respec
                                * Death Penalty
                                * Difficulty Slider
                                * More open auto-fire
                                * Replayable missions
                                * Improving Memory Alpha
                                * Fixing those Commodity missions
                                New Klingon ships? Oh, my yes. And they look...awesome. Re-specs are also coming, of course. All of Cryptic can't wait to see that particular feature out the door. New PvP maps and Fleet Actions are rather nice, too.
                                * Who are the Undine and what drives them?
                                * How can we better exploit the Genesis System to create even more compelling content?
                                * Where can we boldly go next? Where shall we take exploratory missions, as there's so much potential there?
                                * Which faction should be playable next? Romulan? Cardassian? Pakled? Dominion? Horta? Okay, not so much the Pakleds.
                                Some nice stuff mentioned there and a lot more in the actual article.
