I got to Lt. 10 last night, but the servers crashed before I could figure out how to get promoted to Lt. Cmdr. 1

I have 47,000 space dollars saved up, in the hopes of being able to try out the various types of ships before the wipe.

I am really enjoying the game, it is very fun.

Have also enjoyed grouping with some of you guys.

It's lt11 you need to get lc. You also have to spend your skillpoints to gain rank.

Ah, that explains it. Hopefully the servers will be up tonight, and I can have a late night session, what with Aussie day tomorrow and all.

you can play it tomorrow too - the wipe time is the 26th US time - and they wont trigger it til sometime into their work day. also, given the amount of server downtime that's happened the last few days, they may extend the beta a day or so to collect the last chunks of data they missed with the downtime (they did this with Champions - extending the beta right to the headstart, mind you one of those downtimes was caused by an intern http://gamers-underground.com/role-p...epic-fail.html >< ).

I have actually been very impressed with how Cryptic are handling themselves. Yeah there is a fair amount of downtime, but they are prompt with status updates and ETAs.

So many MMOs have had more downtime after they have gone live, and not even bothered with updates.

In Oz the beta wrap up time works out to being around 12pm on Wednesday afternoon. The headstart for people who have pre-rdered is due to begin that on the weekend and the game officially launches on Feb 3rd according to Steam.

w00t! Finally made it to Lt. Cmdr. last night and got to fly a cruiser for all of 15 mins before I went to bed. I probably won't get another chance to play with it before the wipe but I'm glad I did because it's made me more confident about a decision I have to make soon anyway - what career for my "proper" character. I think tactical + escort is the way to go for me. The cruisers just lack agility. They have more special powers and such, but I think I enjoyed combat more in my smaller beginner ship than I did in the cruiser; banking around, working on certain shields and maneuvering to open the window for that perfect torpedo opportunity. Very satisfying when it call comes together.

Protip: Go here and enter the key JIH MUSHA SOH to unlock "Wrath of Khan Admiral's Uniform". It's tied to your account so should survive the beta wipe. Don't know how long it will be valid for. Get cracking!
