    EB Games selling Star Wars: The Old Republic months ahead of release

    Two months ahead of the likely Australian release of Star Wars: The Old Republic, EB Games has begun importing and selling the game throughout their network of bricks and mortar stores, as well as on their website where stock is still available. Harvey Norman's Direct Import store is yet to follow suit.

    PlanetSide 2 beta applications are open

    Sony's forthcoming free to play massively multiplayer first person shooter, PlanetSide 2, is now taking applications for beta participation. Head on over to the shiny new PlanetSide 2 website and find the sign-up link in the right column. As for the release date, SOE's John Smedley commented "when it's ready and we are proud of it," but it's expected early 2012.

    It's official, we have a Star Wars: The Old Republic release date! Detailed on the SWTOR pre-order page are the editions available, related bonus items, system specification requirements and of course the dates themselves; December 20th in North America and December 22nd in Europe.

    Blizzard has just revealed a new account that removes time limitations on their typical 'trial'. Instead, new accounts will allow unrestricted access all the way up to level 20 before a subscription is required. Thereafter, you'll need to spend $20 for the full gaming which includes the Burning Crusade expansion, and raises your level cap to 70.
