I tried one of the Chilli Screamer hot dogs at Bunnings yesterday...it's billed as the 2nd hottest hotdog in the world.
I love chilli and curries and all spicy stuff so I thought Meh, how hot could it really be?
The guy asked me twice if I really wanted to buy one...warned me...tried to stop me...but in my exuberance I brushed off all warnings.
Well, a dab of the sauce on my tongue paralysed my mouth with insane heat.
After five minutes of profuse sweating and pain, I thought maybe I shouldn't be doing this but.....I got through two bites and then spewed.
The heat was somewhat akin to what it must be like to gargle hydrochloric acid.
After recovering, I wondered if anyone else has tried one of these.

Post 2

i have tried the bunning's hot dogs.. but not the Chilli Screamer.. cos even pepper is sometimes too hot for me :P

Post 3

Post 4

well, aussie by neutralisation.

Post 5

the hottest stuff i ever had was at this mexican restaurant at perisher with bluemania, had just a small teensy taste of the oil and that killed my taste buds -good shit

Post 6

What u want is some Endorphin Rush (spelling) now that is some hot shit right there.

Post 7

well i managed to get some of the sauce on the console of the car, which i washed clean, and it's not got white blotches on the vinyl where it made contact.

Post 8

I had the hottest dog there about 4 weeks ago, the Gringo Killer r21 rated chilli sauce.
All i can say is that unless you REALLY like hot and spicy food dont even atempt it
Ripped the breath from my lungs
Tears in my eyes for a few hours
Took me to my knees
and its twice as hot on the way out as in...

Post 10

you just became my hero - no shit

Post 11

*Red devil
1 shot peper vodka, 1 shot green chartreuse, 5 dashes of tabasco sauce.
Serve in a short glass with cracked pepper.

Post 12

if my sneaking suspicion about the sauce in that hot dog is correct, it's about fifty times hotter than your standard tabasco.

Post 13

Pala is right.
Tabasco is not really hot - at least not the standard over hte counter gear in the little red bottle.
That stuff is mouthwash compared to what's used in these hot dogs.

Post 14

just get chinese XXO chilli

Post 15

Ring of fire eh Eater?

Post 16

Oooh, Mr Giggles Hot Dogs... good stuff that :)

Should try that one Eater, love hot food :D

Post 17

I add my name to the list of those who have been owned by the bunnings chilli dog. I was warned, scoffed and warned again. As a person who eats chilli on a regular basis I thought I could take the heat.

One mouthful was my limit. I could have licked hot rocks in a sauna to cool my mouth down I reckon.

Post 18

Hahaha.
I'd pay to see that Fleshy :P

Post 19

I told paladin I would pay for his lunch for a week if he ate one of thise Chilli Screamers in front of me.
He still hasn't decided.

Post 20

My bro went to thailand.... loved chilli before he left... came back eating Green Chilli paste with a spoon..... could never work it out.... hhmmmmm... supriesd he didnt catch on fire.

In mandurah W.A they have a grab fest or somethin... they get right into thier chilli there... the definition of hot chilli is described by the little scull hanging from the neck.... HAHAHA most ppl quickly hobbled around the corner squniting and holding thier breath.... lol...

Post 21

I can eat raw chillis, so I might go give this a shot :p

Post 22

Warning you its hella hot peoples and not for the faint hearted. As far as i can remember he didnt ask me for ID but its says it on the board that ID is required.
But there is no describing the absolute compressed sun potential in this little obscure brown pasty looking sauce.

Post 23

Does anyone know if that bloke sells the sauce seperately?

Post 24

not that i know of, maybe its like an exclusive thing for that particular franchise thingy <--- best word in the English langooage

Post 25

look for red savina habanero sauce. there is no hotter.

Post 26

Quote from paladin:

that's the stuff....you eat it not for the taste but the experience.

i've been eating too much chilli these days, nothing has any potency, and as eater said, it always feel twice as bad coming out than going in.

Post 27

i feel a dga challange comming on
where whoever eats one can get a prize of some sort :)

Post 28

i don't know if anyone will win if you had to eat the whole hotdog. Maybe the one who can hold off throwing up the longest :)

Post 30

Love Habanero's in foods... can't say I've ever tried the sauce Pala has mentioned...

Hmmm, methinks I shall give this hotdog a try during my next journey to bunnings.

Post 31

Well I shall try the HOT hot dog from Mr. Giggles. I love hot food. Try inhaling wasabe for effect. (disclaminer, do not try it).
I was sprayed with the police issue pepper spray and fought the recruits for 15 minutes before they got tired.
Hot dog here I come.

Post 33

I think i will have to try this hotdog.

How much do they cost?

Post 34

Post 35

Post 36

Post 40

I'm going ot make it obvious I'm not a native Aussie here, but I thought Bunnings was a hardware shop?

Post 41

most bunnings have a hot dog stand in the carpark.. nothing to do with bunnings though.

Post 42

It is..... But it has this little caravan/trailer that sells hotdogs and drinks in the carpark on weekends.... I could/would not even try the chilli one as i like my ring with a little less fire :P

Post 43

Post 48

What happens if you put one of these gringo killers in your ass?

Post 49

You get a Mexican ass bandit?

Post 50

Seriously you would be like a dog dragging its ass accross the grass. Only problem is you would be doing it on the pavement for acouple of kms because of the fire!

Post 51

Mmmmm... sounds good.

Post 52

Out of curiosity, anyone here tried the chilli screamer and the gringo killer? If so, how do they compare?

Post 53

Well... The tale of James and the Chilli Screamer...

Well, we set out on our epic journey to find the hottest dog...

Our journey took us to Mr. Giggles at Casuarina... only to be disappointed by the Hot Chilli sauce the ex-newsreader had on offer.

So, to Winnellie Bunnings we journeyed...

We saw the fabled kiosk... then, the sign and the warning. Do not feed to children or pets and keep away from sensitive parts of your body. At this point, I became hesitant... but James was stubborn.

He asked whether we had truly read the warnings... it was a plea. James ignored it, I was still hesitant and whimped out.

The hot dog was made, it looked delicious, smelled amazing... one was ordered, by this point the smell, was not enough to tempt me to venture beyond looking.

Good move, I must say.

I asked the man how truly hot it was, his answer will forever be remembered.... "Hot enough to burn your ring off". He then told James to avoid rubbing his eyes, for he would easily go blind.

I eyed the hot dog suspiciously in James' hands...

We decided the safety of the car, which we had prepared with Iced Coffee and Milk on hand, was far better than the scorching Darwin heat.

We had only barely moved out of the carpark when James decided he couldn't hold off temptation long enough, he took a bite. His face went pale immediately, his eyes began to water profusely... he was on the verge of losing his manhood. Then, to make sure that he wasn't just imagining the sheer pain that was assailing his tongue and throat... he took another bite.

To anyone wanting to try this, no amount of chilli dulling substance can stop this sauce from burning everything it touches. James' eyelid will never be the same, nor his stomach. He now looks like he's had the flu (bedridden) for a month.

Wow. **** that.

Post 54

Bahahahahahahahahahahaha

Post 55

Pwned by a hotdog :p

Post 56

Well, to continue the story.

We went back to the evil hot dog man and told him of the two bites... he commended James' efforts. After asking a few questions it was revealed that he does, in fact, get return customers for the Chilli Screamer.

He informed us of the Scoville Scale and gave us the average units for each of the Hot Dogs...

Now, Jalapeno's sit at about 2,500 - 10,000 Scoville Units, Capsicum/OC Spray used by the police is about 150,000 Scoville Units, Habanero's are around 80,000 - 350,000. A Habanero sauce, recorded as the hottest in the world hit 577,000 Scoville Units...

The Chilli Screamer is 655,000 units... whilst the Death Wish, with the 'Gringo Killer' sauce... is ~1,500,000 Scoville Units... (Gringo Killer is a slang term for Manzano Chillis)

Holy shit.

Post 57

Yeah his wife's mother makes the sauce for the hotdogs, but I don't buy this "Manzano" crap, that sauce is evil, obviously brewed by the occult from satan's distilled urine.

Yeah props to you eater, how far through it did you get?

Post 58

OMFG, I can eat Jalapeno chillis no prob....but literally 150 times hotter....f**k that

Post 59

They should sell shirts or something saying "I survived the Gringo Killer" Or maybe as a prize for eating a certain amount of it :D Could become a whole tourist attraction thing.

Post 60

Haha. that's what we thought Ruin. We figured that they could do custom made ones depending on how many bites you could take ;)

Post 61

I heard they force the grunts to eat em as a kind of training - for what though christ knows, i can't imagine the enemy torturing you with hot dogs :p

Post 62

I get a chilli screamer every 2 weeks or so, havent had enuff ballz to give the gringo killer a go. (mainly cause i want to try and keep it down and not throw it straight back up ;) )

Post 63

no no no, they should put "Blair's 6 A.M" in a hotdog and see if anyone survives. Its rated at a *mild* 16,000,000 Scoville Heat Units. They dont get much hotter then that...

Post 64

They don't get any hotter than that because Pure Capsaicin (the heat from chilli) is 16Mill Scoville Units.

(Scoville units are measured in a parts per million of capsaicin... Pure = 100% = death for me :P)

Post 65

goddamn i want one of these!

Post 66

I wonder how much real damage you could do by eating something like that. I mean you're not actually getting burnt, it's some chemical in the chilli that activates the heat sensing cells of your body so in essense it's all in your mind :P

Post 67

Not just your mind, my friend - you definitely feel it in your arse later on ;-)

Post 68

Several drops of the sauce from the Chilli Screamer I tried to eat fell on the upholstery in my car - I showed Paladin the marks left there - white blotches left by something that is allegedly edible.
I have a pretty strong stomach, hell, I once drank a Four X by accident, but I wonder if maybe this sauce is some kind of ancient evil we have disturbed; just because we can eat it doesn't mean it's to be eaten.
You can drive a car with your feet; doesn't make it a good idea.

Post 69

I was in Singapore i had a indian Curry he told me it was hot :S

well i know i drank 3 litres of water after i hate abit of curry and that nice bread they eat it with :S

which is probably why i felt really ill 2 days later

Post 70

Ruin, yeah.. think it just activates pain receptors.

However chilli's are also high in salicylates, much akin to aspirin (and thins the blood among other things). I'm guessing the hotter the chilli, the more salicylates it'll have.

Probably not a good idea to recommend this fiery ass-burger to anyone with asma, or ADD. ;)

Post 71

lol. Trippy. But would you recommend it anyone with a headache? :P

Post 72

It does actually destroy cells... Which is why you don't put this shit in your eyes or other sensitive parts of your body.

Post 73

Well I just got back, we had 1/4 of a deathwish each and I kept mine down no prob but OMFG it burns...I thought I was going to ****ing die or something, I reckon if I ate it quickly I could do a whole one, so when I get back from Melbourne I'm going for it, Kiza ahs yet to eat his bit, Jess looked like she was going to die, and Jai chucked in the car on the way home. They do taste REALLY nice though :p

Post 74

Quote from ruin:

yeah, but only because I'm evil :p

Post 75

**** eating that shit jess almost fainted. we have video footage aswell!!! will be up soon

Post 76

Post 77

Weeee video footage, now I'll get to see what I probably looked like.

Post 79

I discovered an interesting thing with that hotdog.. I tried it at home, of course i couldn't eat it... but in the hotness and burning and all that... mouth open over the sink, my saliva glands were producing that much, i had a continuous stream of drool going into the sink.. i thought that kicked arse :P

Post 80

If you want to cool your mouth from Chilli, do not drink water. It does nothing.
Dry bread is best. It absorbs the Chilli 'juices' into the bread....dont eat the bread afterwards either :p

Also, milk products work well, anything basic.

Post 81

taking a swig of vegetable or olive oil or some such would probably do the trick too, for that matter, so would something alcoholic, since capsaicin is soluble in those.

Post 82

I'm tellin' ya, nothing cools the palate down quicker than a side-dish of bananas in coconut.

Post 83

well shit, if the chilli doesn't make you throw up, the bananas in coconut sure will

Post 84

lol
man i dont care what people say about no water, the soothing feeling for the one or 2 seconds that its running over your toung is heaven once you have eaten something hotter then you can handle, 3 or 4 min of this and you the hotness starts to go away.

Post 85

yeah but it spreads the chilli juice around your mouth making it hotter

Post 86

Milk for the win

Post 87

Hmm, is the human sense of taste linear or logaritmic in response to increases in a given substance?

Post 88

In the instance of this hotdog...I dont think it matters :p

Post 89

how about a mouthful of semen? that might cool it down.

Thats just wrong duder

As you have so astutely pointed out there was a mistake there, correct words were i tried the suace not the full dog, and the try was a dab on my finger.

Chilli screamer is hot enough for me ;)

Post 100

Usually chilli coming out of the pooper results in a bleeding arse - speaking from experience of many curries and beer in the past. I'm not sure why it bleeds as the chilli doesnt actually cut anything neither does the beer - maybe this is one for the doctors out there to explain or am I the only one who has had a bleeding arse from chilli ??
