A mobile phone ringtone has outsold the new single by Coldplay to top the British singles charts.
Crazy Frog by Axel F, a ring tone based on the sound of a revving Swedish mo-ped, is the first tune being used on mobile phones to cross into mainstream music charts, says Gennaro Castaldo, a spokesman for HMV, the British music retailing chain.
It shits me when people have spent a grand to get the latest and greatest mobile phone, and what ring tone do they use? AN OLD FASHIONED RINGING PHONE!!
Oh yeah and that ringtone-charts thing sucks too...
First Coldplay song that wasn't boring! I even like it too. I'm sure that the members of Coldplays' lives are now complete that they have gained my acceptance.
God I hate those ads. "Get ready cause the crazy frog is back with his very own dance remix". "The crazy frog has just become even crazier as the crazy dj." "The crazy frog is totally crazy, watch while he fists himself to a dance remix of the titanic theme song". Crazy frog needs to be retired. With a shotgun.
so it's the frog's fault. every chick in the office has the "ring-a-ding-ding-ding" shit going. worse yet, they all do it at once and then giggle about it for hours. or, they play it in rising cresendo's that make you cringe everytime it starts up :p
if I had the choice between listening to that thing once more, and been forced to my knees every day to mop bathroom floors with my tongue for a living.. anyway. ringtones are cool. :D
Quote from ruin: I can see how it happened though. That Ringtone is advertised soooo fkn much.
And if you think its advertised here too much.. dont even bother watching TV over there... on their MTV channels, German as well, I swear they play those ads more then actual music, sad but true.
I'd wake up every morning in Spain and turn on the tv and all I fcking saw was that stupid frog and a bunch of his friends! Not happy!
Had a listen to the song and its not that bad actualy, a good mixture of humor in it too.
Really i dont mind this, its better than ' tim the tool man,can he do it, YES HE CAN' song that came out last year and hit number 1 on the song charts.
Also technology is just increasing the ability to communicate and share information/data i am not suprised that the younger generation are using this technology more than older people out there. Considering that old people tend to have a fear of new technology. We all do at a sortain level when we start getting older and wiser in life.

Was the song first that flash thing with a guy going bing badabing broooom and some bright spark had the idea to remix it or something? Because I remember seeing it way before it became a ringtone.
Yeah, it was a site called "insanity test" where it had a photo of a f1 car and that sound in the background. I remember seeing it for the first time at least 3 or 4 years ago.
Not like i should remember cartoon names, bloody hell. Just imagin if one of these guys actualy remembered the very first cartoon that they watched. Okay you got me, astro boy.
