Using various sources within the CLP political machine I am able to let you guys (& gals) in on some very.... very interesting information. Apparently the CLP will be holding its first parliamentary caucus very soon to discuss the massive election loss and at this very same meeting they will be deciding who will be the leader of the opposition. Unfortunately I don't know the exact time of this meeting, my source says about 5pm tomorrow, however my source has told me the exact location where it will be happening...
whats a caucus? why would a party need to be all james bond about a meeting? i those things were more or less public or at least to members of the party or whatever.

edit: ohhh right i kind of get it? clp got their asses handedto them in the election so the entire meeting will be held in a phone booth? man im awesome. oh well im glad you get a nice little ego kick out of an election. who knew they could be so much fun!
A caucus is a democratic meeting of parliamentary members of a political party (or other elected representatives of some kind), with the ability to bind the parliamentary votes of its members to decisions reached by the caucus.
If caucus vote to approve X, all members of that caucus are expected to vote for X in Parliament, no matter how much they may prefer Y. If one votes against a caucus decision, one faces punishment and disciplinary proceedings.
Generally Labor and Laborite groups use the caucus system, which also dictates leadership and front bench status. In coalition parties the usual term is "party room" and "parliamentary wing", and historically these have not been strictly binding on members - no (official) punishment can arise from opposing a wing decision.
Of course, it's not as clear cut as it used to be: Howard's party room is pretty tightly run, and some coalition groups use caucus formats for various fora and parliaments.

I got the joke, eventually. I don't live in Darwin and I have absolutely ass all idea as to what happened in your election. The only things I do know I gather from the threads on this forum. So, thats why I didn't get it at first. Or perhaps your vastly superior intellectual humor was too much for my drug-warped little brain to comprehend. One or the other.

Absolutely right Pres. How dumb can they be here in WA not to have Sunday trading? It creates a bevy of jobs and a virtual second economy. Hell, even Tasmania has Sunday trading. Pala and I have been here for nearly a week now and the second worst thing about the place is lack of Sunday trading. The abundance of hot chicks isn't too bad however.
