So 10 days left till it comes out. Who else is highly anticipating this.
I think thisll be the best movie of the year followed by batman begins then ROTS and the surprisingly interesting looking charlie and the chocolate factory.

Saw the preview for this movie yesterday. Looks to be quite entertaining. Love they way the movie is made to look like a comic, even though it's real (well, real actors, but shitloads of CG :p).

Heh, coincidently enough I was listening to the War of the Worlds broadcast this evening. ****ing excellent it is.
I saw a preview for the new movie last time I was at the cinemas, took a bit to catch on to what it was. I mean they had the narrating, but I've got to say... the voice was less then average. Hopefully the movie will be good anyhow.

Ok thats the Aussie release date, so im guessing you are referring to the US release date, cause about 1 day after that you (ADSL users) can download an illegal pirated copy.
but the movie does look great. Very dark, just like the comics. Black and White with hints of colour, just like the comics.
With Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino directing it there is almost no need to mention the actors.... almost. :P
Jessica Alba, Elijah Wood, Bruce Willis, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Madsen, Michael Clarke Duncan, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Frank Miller (special guest apperance).
This movie had immeasureable potential!!
PS. Hitch hickers is worth a watch as well i think.

Also, Day of the Triffids scared hell outta me. Wasnt at all worried about the psychotic killer plants, it was the fact that everyone who watched the meteor shower went blind!

Dang Dang! & Dang! again.
They have revised the Oz relase for Sin City. Which totally sucks. By now every man and his dog will have a DVD pirated copy off the net.
I guess they feel they could not compete with Star wars 3.
Now the OZ date is like early August. stuff that i will own a original US relase dvd by then. :(

Damn straight, this is one of a few movies that has to be seen on the big screen.
A friend @ work got a good illegal copy off the net, said it totally rocked.
IM very tempted to go over and watch it, but im holding out just.....
He did say that Mickey Roukre totally rocked but. Same for Brucey.

I just watched this film today and I have to say that this is the best god damn film I have seen for a long time. The start of it though is so Max Payne it makes me laugh...
The whole "I pulled the trigger..." kinda thing...

I watched this tonight, gotta say I loved it!
Story is strange, jumps around, but the cinematography work was fantastic and there was blood and flesh :D
I have to read the original comics now to see what the rest of the story is about, was told that this was early development bit in the Sin Corporation.

I hated it, I really really dissliked it... I thought it was terrible, you can get shot 13 times and still be alive. You can be saved after getting shot 13 times and get your balls and pecker shot off but your an orange smelly big headed thing.
I hated the movie so much ......... It was silly.
Only decent thing were the sets of boobs :P

Saw it saturday night and wasnt impressed. Despite all the rave reviews i'd heard going in, i just couldnt get into it. The Pulp Fiction style plot jumping was ok, but the dialogue was atrocious. Works well as a comic im sure, but adapts very poorly to a movie format.
Some funny parts and the chicks were good-looking, but overall i didnt rate it

I just do think ya saw it in the right perspective Phoenix. Dialogue is meant to be that way. Self Narration, short punchy one liners, i think it was a perfect movie format. Camera shots and everything were great for its style. Ie - Door on the warehouse for the first one.. lit only by one light so its all you can see etc.

I was impressed by the movie, it really captured the way Sin City was meant to seen.
The camera angles were fantastic, really gave me the 'Comic Book' feel.
The self-narrating actors were also a treat, some very nicely written dialogue.
I give this movie 4.5 stars (out of 5).

My fave fact about this movie is that Rodriguez actually left the Directors Guild of America (DGA, I know :P) to add Frank Miller as a credited director, even tho he didnt do any directing, but just cus Rodriguez took so much inspiration from the books

The realism of the movie was not all crash hot, but yet enjoyable to watch :)

Thats because, unlike many of the recent comic based movies, it has been created to be as true to the comics themselves as possible. Both in appearance and story.
So its obviously not going for "realism" as much as it is honoring the comics.
