Same here Doyen, I can download something right now at over 155kB/s... but the test is quite a bit slower.

Yeah I'm with Optus, yet I get a higher speed from Netspace, I would say that most of them are limited on their end, so your not going to get a true indication of your internet speed.
I could (assuming the other end allowed it) get 1MB/s if not more but the fastest i got from there was 675KB/s. Plus the speed from those links are an average speed, I noticed it burst up to 750KB/s

B4 i moved frm Toowoomba i waz "happy as larry" with netspace, even thou they are way south, i had believed that it didnt matter who the ISP was, as long as they can provide me with a local port, internet must B all the same as its all Telstras' lines anyway! well that waz the theory!~( so why does Telstra suck? )
ohh well, 1500 nextmonth then! if then ping times R still high it may be time to call the friendly(& english speaking) staff @ Internode 2 discuss a Churn! pitty im locked in2 a contract with Netspacke, so ive gota pay out 50% of around 11months!

Not having any problems here with Netspace over in Coburg. Never had for the last 5 years. Submit a query on it if it's persisting. Although Telstra giving Netspace major gooblies at the moment with its pipes.
Also over in SA too.

well, ive b*tched & whinged at netspace, even threatend them sum, but they still dont seem 2 care! they tell me i must expect this living in Darwin, its like they think of Darwin as little country town! ive found that their CSOs' R rude & very unhelpfull with my situation, although after my many calls 2 them my speed has improved a little, & this is by far best result i hav ever had,

its worse during peak times as ive posted previously, but wat i dont understand is Y i dont get my full speed, tel$tra has told me they will provide the full speed, & they hav a speed test, but only for their members, as do Internode, so maby netspace just plain suck! in Toowoomba i had a "single digit ping" on the Node servers, (i called it "headshot ping"), so im seriously considering paying out the rest of my contract & making a churn 2 them! but id like 2 try tel$tra because, well, they do own the lines & they promi$e full $peed, although most of U guys recommend Internode, & that makes sense as they always hav been & still R the best steam servers 4 me so i dont kno, im concerned about signing another contract after this experience :(
static what speed adsl do u have? because those figures looked pretty decent/average
Unfortunately that's the sort of thing you deal with living in Darwin. Darwin will always have a higher ping more or less to anywhere else in Australia simply from the physical distances involved at this stage.
What you have above is pretty much spot on now though compared to even in other states.
With node I get flat 160K/sec downloads (4 threads) - consistently, like 24/7, not every now and then... and 44ms Adelaide pings. Not too shabby when you think about it - that is, of course, when the routing is working normally and we are NOT routed via Mars :)
Im currenty, 4 now, probably not much longer, a customer of Netspace on a 1500/256 plan! that last test i ran was the best result ive ever ever had, i did that around 1am this morning, now 10am & out of around 15 tests, this is the best result i can get,

ok now its loking a litle bit better
my internet has been ok 4 sumtime now, i guess 512/128 just wont make the grade here! fyi, that last test waz from the 1500/256 plan. i guess ***space hav routed things as best as they can & ive not relly had any (major) comlaints for them latley, so now ive jumped speed again just to see wat the 512/512 wud do & it works dam well for games, better than 1.5! i miss the download speed, but internet is all about the games me, so, meh, ill probably stick with netspace untill end of contract, but not after that as ive found Netspace Support Sux, maby i waz just gettin greedy as i did live near USQ where my pings got in2 "single digits" anyway, im a happy gamer, 4 now :)
