ID:	596461 Dota was, and is, a pretty big deal. So it was an even bigger deal when Valve snapped up one of the main men behind the game. Finally, we've received word on what they've been working on. It is indeed Dota 2, and it's due for release on PC and Mac in 2011. GameInformer have the official scoop, with a bunch of saucy details for the loyal fan-base.

Yeah, doesnt look very exciting. Plus the dota comp stream they had last night saw massive lag issues with the game.
It just looks pretty nothing more.

1.5 million people streaming in 4 different languages. I think that is a pretty awesome feat.
Watched the M5 MYM game last night from start to finish. Seems very unpolished in my opinion screen was not shaking when they went to kill the boss at mid (called Kongor in HoN). Even if this is still the beta part of it. Heroes look un textured to a degree.
The ground looks awesome - same with the trees.
Towers look gay.... Buildings in the spawn area just are bland.

Creep blocking is quite different to what I am used to with DoTA on war3 and quite different to hon/lool also. Not saying this is a good or bad thing, just felt quite different.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions
    by rec
I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
