ID:	596757 Logitech's MX 500, 510 and 518 were heralded by gamers - and continue to be - as some of the best gaming mice on the market. They remain a prime choice for low-sens twitch gamers due to the absence of unwanted hardware acceleration, meaning a <0.5% cursor to hand movement variance. Logitech have now promised to "take everything that was right with the MX518 and make it even better" with their new G400.

The MX 518's 1800 DPI sensor has been upgraded to a higher-resolution 3600 DPI, and that DPI is adjustable on the fly without software; 400, 800, 1800, and 3600. The shape, button layout, durability and indeed tracking consistency has been left intact and unchanged. Most importantly, and impressively, the G400 reports at 1000Hz, up from the MX 518's 125 reports per second. Finally, the cable is thinner and lighter.

Personally, I'm thrilled. I can finally stop hoarding MX 510 mice in fear of this cherished optical series becoming extinct.

      Oh sweet, same price there.

Highly recommended. If you love (or loved) the MX500/510/518 then this is the one you want - it's the winner.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions
    by rec
I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
