  • 1.3 million users compromised in Sega Europe hack

SEGA hackedThe next victim of the recent spree of games industry hacks is Sega. 1,290,755 customers' SEGA Pass information including members name, email addresses, dates of birth and encrypted passwords were stolen. Sega has told CVG that this has called for a prompt to "further strengthen our network security as a priority issue and strive to prevent any potential recurrence". No financial information was stored on the site.

"We express our sincerest apologies to our customers for the inconvenience and concern caused by this matter. SEGA Pass is the service used to provide information about our new products to registered members and does not hold any customer financial information. After the unauthorized entry was identified, we immediately stopped the SEGA Pass service and took emergency action to prevent further damage. This action included immediately contacting all our registered SEGA Pass users.

"We are now fully investigating the cause of the incident. We have also examined the possibility of any other information loss from unauthorized access across our other services and can confirm there are no other verified incidents. We will immediately report through the website of SEGA Europe Ltd. (www.sega.com) should there be any further developments regarding this issue. We deeply regret that such unauthorized access occurred."

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions

I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
