ID:	596946Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was revealed just over a week ago, as was a slew of opinions from professional gamers who have been testing the forthcoming shooter. PCGames.de recently had a word with Valve CEO, Gabe Newell, and popped an interesting question; is cross-platform play a possibility?

"That's certainly our goal. We never want to create these islands of players. Our view is players should be able to play as part of a community on whatever device they can," Gabe responded. He followed on to say that despite it sometimes being hard due to contractual issues, "that's always our preference; is to let customers play and be part of the larger community."

I'm sure many of you PC gamers are rubbing your hands with delight right about now, in preparation for your dramatically improved kill/death ratios.

not with their comments about 'balancing play' between the different control schemes. sounding more like a game of soggy sao: whatever the outcome, you lose.

Meh, so many games say they'll be cross platform multi but never end up being. Cept for Dreamcast Quake 3 but hey, that was only 10 years ago now.

Console players get the shits, then buy the PC copy. Marketing win.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions
    by rec
I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
