I think most of the reader base here at GU really enjoyed Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer gameplay, if only for a short time. Of course as we've discussed to death, the problem wasn't the game, rather the peer-to-peer match-making system and segmentation of the community with $15 map packs. That's why it's a delight to know that the next iteration of the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops, looks to be just as fun and isn't giving dedicated server support the cold shoulder. Check out the trailer and prepare to get a wee bit excited.
As the trailer teases, we can expect a full multiplayer reveal September 1st.

The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. by recI've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
