    EA closes Melbourne studio

    Merely a fortnight ago one of Australia's most renowned development studios, Team Bondi, went into receivership. Now there's news of another Australian studio closure, that of Melbourne's Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts subsidiary. A source has told Kotaku that Patrick Soderland, EA vice president, had concluded that the an in-development 360 title would not be profitable, deciding to can the project and the studio.

    Chrome 14 released with Web Audio API specification

    Chrome 14 is now available for you to update, which interestingly includes the imeplementation of Google's new Web Audio API. It's a draft-status standard proposal authored by Google through the W3C, enabling rich audio processing in Web applications. What this means for game developers is to mix sound sources in 3D space, among other things.
